Register for the Base Race today and save!

It's about that time again! Selah's annual Base Race is happening again this year on September 15, 2018 at 8 a.m. Before you know it, everyone in the area will be racing and raising money for an important cause - to aid the Soldiers Project, an organization dedicated to assisting veterans with PTSD.
The race is also supported by United Through Reading who connects military families facing physical separation by facilitating the bonding experience og reading together aloud. Sharing story time bridges the gap of the deployed solider from becoming a stranger to their child. Reading aloud helps the child connect with the separated parent and builds resiliency and strength in military families.

The Base Race begins at 8 a.m. on Sept. 15 at Carlon Park. The 5k, half-marathon and fun run all start at this location and lead to the Yakima Training Center, a military base in the area.

Note: The half marathon will start at 8am and the 5k will start at 8:15 am

The Soldiers Project aids service members who have returned from the battlefield, yet are dealing with significant transition problems and mental health issues, including PTSD. This organization provides veterans and their loved ones a route for them to seek the proper counseling they deserve.
